Sporvognen er trukket af st\u00e5lkabler, som k\u00f8rer 373 m op i h\u00f8jden med h\u00e6ldning p\u00e5 op til 45 grader.\u00a0I 1883 havde 30-40 familier deres hjem i Peak og allerede i 1873 \u00e5bnede Peak hotel. For at komme dertil m\u00e5tte man i starten bruge b\u00e6restolen. I 1882 blev sporvognsselskabet etableret, som forbinder Murray Kaserne og Victoria Gap. Peak Tramp er den f\u00f8rste kabelbane i Asien p\u00e5 1350 meter. I starten var kabelbanen trukket af en dampmaskine, men i 1926 overgik man til at bruge elektricitet til at tr\u00e6kke sporvognen.\u00a0Banen er s\u00e5 stejl at det er vanskeligt , at st\u00e5 op undervejs, men en fin udsigt med gr\u00f8nne v\u00e6kster og skyline samt havn baggrunden ses p\u00e5 vejen op.<\/p>\n<p>Fra Peak Tramp kan man f\u00e5 en fantastisk udsigt over Hong Kongs hurtigt skiftende skyline og over havnen.\u00a0En v\u00e6sentlig modernisering af systemet blev gennemf\u00f8rt i 1989 med indf\u00f8relse mikroprocessor teknologi og helt nye sporvogne, der kan transportere op til 120 passagerer. De oprindelige vogne blev lavet af lakeret tr\u00e6 og bestod af \u00e5bne r\u00e6kker fuldspalte s\u00e6der foran og bagtil, med en lukket rum i midten.\u00a0Peak Tramp banen er s\u00e5 stejl, at de
